Harvard Media has been a pivotal part of the Red Deer soundscape, starting with "The River" - CKRI on August 6th, 2010. X100.7, launched on January 29, 2018, quickly became a staple for fresh and dynamic content. In December 2015, Harvard acquired Kraze 101, a station that had been existing in Red Deer since 2009. Recently, Kraze has become a welcomed addition to the play family. As of January 2024, play101, a dynamic brand focused on nostalgia, community, and fun, is excited to be a part of the Red Deer market.

We’re excited to share a new milestone in our Red Deer market—Kraze 101 has evolved into play101, joining our innovative brand family. Building on Kraze's decade of excellence, celebrated on August 6th, 2020, we're eager to continue its legacy of achievement. One highlight was the 2016 Canadian Music Week Awards, where Kraze's Dennis Allen won Program Director Small Market, and the station earned Station of the Year. Together with X100.7, we put our community first. This includes building five cars for differently-abled kids with Variety, a Children's Charity, and consistent participation in the Christmas Wish Breakfast since 2015. As play101, we're excited to bring more fun, innovative, and empowering experiences to the Red Deer market, all while staying true to our real, genuine, and community-focused roots. Let's not forget about X100.7, our station that distinguished itself by hosting three unforgettable "One Weekend Only" events, an absolute hit with our audience!
