Edmonton’s play107 Ryder & Lisa Rally Community to Raise $7,500 (and growing) for AARCS After Devastating Robbery
Edmonton, AB – October 18, 2024 – This morning, Edmonton’s favourite radio duo, Ryder & Lisa, took a stand to help the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society(AARCS) after the organisation suffered a devastating robbery. AARCS, known for its incredible work in rescuing and rehabilitating animals across Alberta, recently faced a significant setback when essential supplies and funds were stolen from their facility. In response, Ryder & Lisa launched a heartfelt fundraising initiative to support AARCS during this challenging time.
Through their morning show, the dynamic pair rallied the community, inspiring listeners and local businesses alike to come together for a worthy cause. The results have been nothing short of astounding – raising an impressive $7,500 in just one morning; with that number continuing to climb! The outpouring of support from the Edmonton community has showcased not only the power of local media but also the unwavering compassion of its residents.
AARCS is a non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in Alberta. The funds raised will go directly toward replacing the stolen supplies and ensuring that AARCS can continue their life-saving mission without further interruption.
When asked about the motivation behind the fundraiser, play107 morning-host Ryder said, "the staff there should be able to dedicate their time to taking care of and finding homes for vulnerable animals, and not scrambling to replace the funds that were stolen from them." He also mentioned his confidence in the community "the generosity that Edmonton and surrounding area show every time we've asked for community help has been unwavering." On the other hand, when Lisa was asked for a comment she said "ruff ruff" and licked her hand.
Harvard Media, the parent company of the Ryder & Lisa Morning Show, applauds this initiative and is committed to supporting AARCS throughout these charitable efforts.
